Dynamics of Early Church Part 5...
So... Are these Holy Ghost inspired "dynamics" relevant today? I strongly believe so.
We are talking Holy Spirit here... the Holy Ghost.
Remember it is... "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts." ☆ Zechariah 4:6...
When we do our 'earthly bit' the Holy Spirit does His Heavenly bit and more!!
We are His hands, His feet, His mouthpiece and His wallet.
As we yield and surrender to Him, He is able to do much.
We must not let the world, its busy-ness and commotion distract us from the Lord and His Kingdom.
☆ Colossians 3:1-2... "If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."
One preacher has said that, "The church has little influence over the world, because the world has so much influence over the church."
That truly is a concern.
Jesus' exhortation to the Church of Pergamos was, "beware of spiritual compromise (trading off) with the world."
Even the world's push on political correctness is 'infecting' and 'affecting' the Church; playing on words such as: tolerance, discrimination, morality, acceptance, equality, absolutes, relativism, fundamentalism etc.
This worldview of 'political correctness' is not part of God's economy.
God says what He means and means what He says.
God is a Holy God and He has set down HIS absolutes, for His Creation, of what is right and wrong, what is good and bad.
The church needs to be bold and confident and under Holy Ghost anointing preach...
Christ Crucified,
The Cross,
Sin and Repentance,
Heaven and Hell,
Being Born Again,
The Blood of Christ,
About the Rapture,
About the Second Coming,
Healing,
About Redemption, Justification, Sanctification...
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit,
About Speaking in Tongues,
About the Gifts and Fruit of the Spirit,
About deliverance from demons and evil spirits,
About exposing our adversary the Devil and his wiles,
About Surrender,
The Will of God in our lives,
Holiness and consecrated living... the list goes on.
The Holy Ghost is not here to "tickle ears"... but to save, heal and deliver.
As the Apostle Peter said, "We ought to obey God rather than men."
The church needs to go back to the BASICS!
What basics?
God's Holy Ghost basics!
The church needs to listen to and hear the admonishments, exhortations and recommendations made by Jesus to the 7 Churches in the book of Revelation.
The two most important chapters in Revelation are chapters 2 and 3... Jesus' letters to His Church...
"That He might present it to Himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."
The church must...
Allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in the meetings... give Him place...
Be continually filled with Him.
Be led by Him.
Keep in step with Him.
Give Him time and not restrict Him.
Not grieve Him nor quench Him.
The Holy Spirit working through the church turned the world upside down over 2000 years ago.
Let's see it happen again today as we get in fresh sync with the Spirit of God and... with one another.
Let not modernism, materialism and humanism stifle what the Holy Ghost is wanting to do!
Let's get in step with and maintain the Holy Spirit's momentum.
"Come Holy Spirit we need Thee,
Come sweet Spirit we pray.
Come in Thy strength and Thy power,
Come in Thy own gentle way."
☆ 2 Chronicles 7:14... "If My people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." ………… Selah!
